Four Leaf Clover

Four Leaf Clover

“Don’t you think it’s a sign?” I asked Cristian. We were having lunch at Baha Fresh on Miracle Mile today. This week, because of  my 0wn 16 year old son motivating me to not give up on my dreams, I decided to resurrect the concept I started here with my sister. I haven’t blogged here since May 6, 2009. That happened to be the day before Sparky, my beloved Labrador died. I have been blogging my personal story at  Resurrect Your Hero . These past three months have been about getting out of under water. But my dreams have always stayed alive in my heart.

I asked my son to help me with some creative ideas to revamp the character. I told him that I wanted a four leaf clover for good luck. I told him this as he was having his Lucky Charms breakfast.  The challenge I have is to get him going as a teen to get focused while being a student at the same time. He is a mellow laid back kid. I love his personality, but it does take some nudging to get him focused. I am not asking him to work hours upon hours. I am simply asking him to give me ideas that I know are in his creative brain and spirit.

Around lunch time, I set out to do some errands. I  gave him a blank 8 1/2 x 11 note pad to brainstorm ideas while I was to be out. “I want one idea by the time I get back in one hour.”  But hunger struck me and asked him to come with me instead  for lunch. As we sat there eating, he says, “Mom did you notice the tattoo on the guy that is sitting next to you?” I glance to my left and just five feet away is this guy with a four leaf clover tattoo on his neck.  The funny thing is that it was from my son’s view.  I would have never seen it.

Serendipity? A sign? As a teen, he didn’t want to admit that it was a sign. But I did catch him smiling. I did ask the guy why he had a four leaf clover tattoo. “Irish”, he said dryly. “It’s not for good luck? I asked.  “It certainly hasn’t brought me any luck”, he replied. Oh well, we finished our lunch and I wished him luck. What do you think about luck and destiny? What are you destined to become?

It feels  good to be back to rediscover this project, this dream to bring families together. I believe dreams can come true. All it takes is great focus. Too many projects get abandoned because our vision is not strong enough.
